Just because someone doesn't share the same core beliefs, doesn't mean a conversation can't be had. However, if someone keeps pushing about adopting their beliefs, that is an issue.

I stay calm and let them have their ideas even if I believe they are completely wrong.

I feel if someone believes in something different that it is their choice. I don't have to agree with it but I'm not gonna bash someone for it.
